The only complaint is that it's a little too much like NotePad (looks wise, not features).

Well the layout is very plain and unassuming. The coloring and styles are different, but it is essentially NotePad. I suppose you're planning on adding more features as time goes by.

Can you insert non-text items? The description doesn't say. And I can't actually download any of that stuuf on the computer.

Can't blame them.
I too would prefer that.

Enh.... I don't prefer either, and you still didn't answer my second question.

I guess I understand. Basic Notepad apps take less long to load. Office 2007 takes forever...

Hmm. Well, Office 2007/2008 blows.
Believe me, I have tried Office 14, not much of a improvement.

I've tried using the runetext function in my browser and it doesn't seem to be working - it comes up with a box saying "failed to initialize" - is there something I can do to fix it? I tried dowloading it separately and it came up with the same message.

That is an error we have never had before, does it have the same error message for RuneText2?

No software is tested on 98,xp,vista and then windows 7

So the same error for RuneText2 and RuneText1 (RE extension)
That is odd because RuneText2 was started from scratch.

It has been tested on 12 xp computers, I will see if I can recreate the error and suggest a workaround until a fix is made.

I will look into it in a while.

Is that all the error says?

Just checking Lara - you do what the .Net Framework installed right? 3.5 is recomended.

I don't quite remember the error you get when you run a .Net application when you don't have the .Net framework but your error could be the one...

I ran Runetext2 again and this is exactly what comes up in the box-

"Runetext2.exe - Application Error"

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate appliation

Runetext in rezpro did the same thing on my mother's computer as well, as did a separate download of Runetext2 on there (ie, the same application error message.) I'm wondering if it's something to do with settings or maybe I need to do something different in the setup wizard (I'm just following the standard options as they're offered.)

Yes Hellblade is correct, now I see the whole message I can confirm this.

You will need to download and install the .Net Framework from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

This should solve your problem.

Thanks both of you - it's working!! RuneText Icon_biggrin It took a few tries to download the .NET completely as the main download package is a big file, but it got there eventually (my mobile internet connection on my laptop seems to speed up and slow down quite a lot at the mo, which seems to bother some downloads.) I'll now go and have a good look around Runetext 2!
