Forum updates
Today we have added some changes to the forum.
The first being scrolling announcements meaning we can have many more announcements but only taking up the space of one.
The second being that now when looking though the memberlist you will see the users avatars as well as the Runecats Explorer version they are using. Not only that but there is now a user search option to make finding your friends easier!
The 3rd being the Runecats menu box which comes up when you not logged this gives options to login or register and can speed up the process however if this annoys you then you can click don't show this again.
The 4th being a reputation system, you may notice a + and - next to users, and depending on the content you can give them a + which will help there reputation and a - for bad reputation, a good example of a reason to get a - is spam and a good example of a + is helping someone. This is under construction as well as the Runecats Contribution system, we are trying to allow you to work towards other things other than the post counting which proves nothing.
We have also made quite a few layout and color changes to the forum.

Re: Forum updates
Added a quick reply section, the ability to have colored titles and a divider line between the important messages like the Rune-readers and Rune-notices and the normal posts.

Re: Forum updates
Ok I have decided a point system would be the best way to help all of the systems put into action come together. The Runecats Reputation system is finished however I am still working on the Runecats contribution system.
anyway as you have have noticed point in red on your information as well now, points are worked out by posts, reputation, contribution and friends (we have added a friends and foe part as well now.
posts and reputation you had before the point system will not be included in your points.
also now if you make a new topic and someone posts something on it you can use a button near edit and quote called thanks, this will give a the member 3 Runecats reputation points which will mean 3 points as well, this will be good if your asking a question and someone answers it for you, you can thanks them for it.
I can also give you points if I think you deserve it, and I may host competitions later on in the year so you can win some points.
also we have improved the profile section so you can manage everything better, we have added more rather than changed it so it wont be confusing, I hope you enjoy.
you can find out what your daily point rate is, how many positive and negative Runecats reputation you have in your statistics section of your profile, here is mine: https://runecats.forumotion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&page_profil=stats&u=1

Re: Forum updates
Stop stop stop!!!!
This has gone way to cluttered and actually even childish. Points system? WTF, what does it to but adding the contribution reputation and all other things together into one points system!?
IT IS CLUTTERED!
I like the quick reply and the plus and minus thing, but the points system and contribution is just too much! Not to mention how ugly it looks under your avatar.
I say remove the contribution thing as it seems like just another reputation thing. Same thing with the RE version, I use it when I'm on Windows, which happens rarely. And quite frankly, I don't really care what RE version other people use. Sure, I'm glad people use it, don't misunderstand me, I really am, but I just don't care what version they use. I like the new profile system though. But much of these new things have made the forum a little too, I dunno, bloated? Cluttered?
You usually come up with lots of good updates, but lately you seem to have been experimenting a lot. No offense, but keep it simple.

Re: Forum updates
Well the RE version is for my purpose more so I can offer support easier, many software companies forums have this so they can give support easier. The RE version has been there for months so why bring that up!
reputation is based on you reputation to the community if you help people they can choose to thank you and other people can use the + and - button to rate a page which will change your reputation.
Reputation is set by users and based on the forum.
Contribution is how you help Runecats not other members and it isn't limited to posts, you can be anything which helps Runecats.
The point system is just putting all of your hard work into rewarding points.
I hope this explains everything better.
These systems can help people who are after support know who to trust, they will be able to see how much this person is good and helping other members and Runecats.
In the near future I was thinking of having a reward system which would explain the point system, however at the moment it's just fun to get points, however depending on if I am able to develop a reward system depends on if I keep the point system, so yes I may get rid of the point system.

Re: Forum updates
What does the points do?
Why not put up a highscore table? And give out free iPhones to the people with highest points?

Re: Forum updates
I have set up a report system, this is to help me with problems on the forum, only report if the person has done something wrong.
If you abuse this system it will waste my time and you will be the one who gets punished. Muhahaha
anyway use it wisely as this is to save time not waste it.

Re: Forum updates
It looks weird with all these different buttons. Shouldn't you update the old ones?
Re: Forum updates
I have made them all default Runecats buttons, I expect you will complain
I have changed thanks to credit as I think it works better
