Runescapes haves 3 major flaws that tends to ruin my fun for me.

1. Bad community. I can't blame Jagex for this, but at least they could do something about it. They don't even bother to block the word noob, as it is the most common insult in the game. I've never seen a game which has more offensive people than any other. They could at least block it, for it means people are being hostile.

2. Pay to play. And I can blame Jagex for this one. They expand the members world, but they rarely expand the free world. And it sure gets boring quickly if you don't pay. Almost everything you see Jagex is doing, is making accounts safer, or adding members stuff.

3. Grinding. On the long run, you'll have to do endless grinding to be one of the best. I don't like grinding, as it easily gets boring for me just doing the same over and over again. I almost can't resist using bots because of it...which got me banned.
