Thanks. Sorry I missed all that nothingness. My laptop crashed (i was screwing with the bootmgr and accidentally deleted it), and I had to reinstall windows and get back all my files and such. But all better now.

I should stop messing with my computer...

Couldn't you just restore the bootmgr from the disk, also how did you accidentally delete it!

I was trying to restore a backup I made, because I accidentally deleted some of my files that I needed. But the backup was a full disk image created with a program called SelfImage. It started to restore, and then Windows realized that I was messing with the whole disk (including the partitions). Windows freaked out and stopped the restoration process. I figured that I should try restoring the backup in Ubuntu, as it doesn't care what I do to partitions. But when I restarted, I was greeted with the message "BOOTMGR IS MISSING. PRESS CTRL+AL+DEL TO RESTART." I figure SelfImage started to restore the disk image, and got as far as Bootmgr before Windows stopped it. I tried to use the Windows installation disc to restore Bootmgr, but after restarting again, I saw "BOOTMGR IS MI☺". With the smiley face and everything. Even worse, when I tired to reinstall Windows, it could no longer detect the hard drive in my laptop. The only way I was able to fix anything was by installing Ubuntu to use the whole drive (i.e. format the drive), and the reinstall Windows over it. And then reinstall Ubuntu, and THEN boot Ubuntu and restore the backup. Yeah, no fun.

Yeah, that's what I get for trusting Windows to let me restore a backup that I made with (heaven forbid) a program that's not Windows Backup.

And also, it's probably not a good idea to clean the registry like that. What you get out of it isn't much, and the cleaner program usually uses more resources then unused registry files. The best way to clean it is manually, but that's dangerous.

Haha, yep...although I haven't 'fixed' the computer that's PSU blew up.... because I don't need to Razz

And well, to fix it it would just need a new PSU...although I'm not sure if the Motherboard took any damage.... but it doesn't matter....
