Asus EEE

I have just realized I haven't made a post for the Asus EEE.




The Asus EEE Is the smallest laptop in the world at this moment in time, but it probably has the lowest spec out of new laptops, It comes with Linux pre-loaded you can put XP on it though.

When I owned one, I quite enjoyed using it, it has a fast boot up and loads it's apps quite fast, great portability, so good for work or school.

Although missing alot of features from windows, mac and other linux systems.

Overall the laptop is good for people on the move or for a first laptop, It's defiantly not an upgrade on any laptop, but a good extra or a good first Linux computer.

I do not like Xandros (the system EEE comes with) since they have gone co op with Microsoft...
One should get a eeePC 901 and put Ubuntu Vista or maybe oSuSE?
Why not put FreeBSD?

You can put other Oses on it:

I find the dock on Leopard to look a little uglyish...
Maybe since I have used AWN on Linux too much...

when i get one i'm putting in the RAM upgrade then put in ubuntu 7.04

leopards doc is well better than tigers.

It's not better, it is more eye candy. You can do almost the same with AWN/Cairo and Kiba is way cooler.
