Re: Apple iPad
PCs play better games. I haven't seen Left4Dead or Portal on the iPad, so I'm not satisfied...

Apparently Steam is coming to the iPad.
Re: Apple iPad
So. steam is still apparently coming to the iPad.

Re: Apple iPad
I ment for game playing wise
The iPad may get Steam, but it still won't have the same types of games and stuff as the PC. I'm not saying the games would be worse...you know what I mean...don't you? xD AMV might...

Re: Apple iPad
No, no, no. Steam's coming to Macs. It will be quite some time before iPads (or their future equivalents) have the hardware that can support most Steam games.
Re: Apple iPad
Seriously I think the iPad can cope, a lot of games on the appstore are epically amazing and awesome graphics
Re: Apple iPad
Yeah, the graphics are good, but they're still lightweight games. They don't require much processor power or RAM.
Re: Apple iPad
Macs usually have less ram and processor speeds but still run better by at least 50%
iPads processor is over double the iPhone and over 4 times a PSP and over 8 times the DS.
iPads ram is 4 times the PSP.
Most of the iPad games are much more "fuller" than iPhone games if you purchase the iPad games rather than blowing up a iPhone game.

Re: Apple iPad
I realize that, but in it's current state, the iPad can't handle newer games like Fallout 3 or Bioshock 2. Even if it runs more efficiently than the iPhone, PSP, or DS, it still doesn't have the physical ability to play such heavy games. I have seen examples where a game is rendered in the cloud, and the video is streamed to the iPad, but the iPad itself can't handle full games like that.
Re: Apple iPad
The iPad has a 1ghz processor, my computer is 8 years old and has a 1.5ghz processor and that's no where near what is needed for heavy games.
The iPad also only has 256mb RAM, that's no where near what is needed for heavy games. (But, the iPad isn't far off my computer's specs the 64GB one is bigger then my HDD..)
And just because graphics look good, it doesn't neccesiarly mean it needs high requirements..........

Re: Apple iPad
There ya have it. If Hellblade's computer can play Unreal Tournament 3, then so can the iPad. But I don't think that's gonna happen any way other than streaming video to it.
Re: Apple iPad
I want some more FPS for iPad, I want at least 10 by the time I get it, I think their are amount 4 at the moment.
One looks like Halo
As long as their is a Halo alternative and a mario kart alternative and taptap I am happy!
(shrek kart for iPad looks awesome!)

Re: Apple iPad
Ehh... I'm not a fan of the iPad's TapTap. Radiation is the name, if I'm not mistaken. But it's only 1-player, and it doesn't have the feel of the other TapTap games. It's just too different and weird.
Re: Apple iPad
eh.. most people here know i have a disliking towards Apple. they just over price EVERYTHING. lol. i'm not payin 30 bucks for your sh*tty headphones. not when i can buy some $20 JVC marshmallows and have 10x's the quality. anyway, the Ipad isn't a bad idea, i believe that they should have made a new OS for it. or integrated OSX somehow. i get that they try to make stuff simple by keeping it the same. Apple products aren't bad, just overpriced, and they are all getting a little samey. IMHO

Re: Apple iPad
Yes! Someone else who understands! We shall rise up against the Macheads, and overpower them with our ability to actually customize our computers!
Re: Apple iPad
They are higher priced because they have created a niche market or something like that....so they don't really have any competition so don't have to lower their prices......kind of....
Like I said somewhere before, the iPad is more expensive (or near the same price) then NetBooks, which has higher specs then my computer (Although, my processor is better I think, Pentium 4 is better then Pentium Atom I think..)

Re: Apple iPad
Not to get off topic, but
Depends. Pentium 4s are really inefficient, and heat up really quickly. Atoms are better for Netbooks. Though in a normal desktop computer, an Atom just won't cut it.Hellblade wrote:(...Pentium 4 is better then Pentium Atom I think...)
