Re: Windows Vista
but also on a brand new system, Vista is running over 70 processes compared to XP's 40 or so... give or take. Now for the gaming view it is better than xp (grphx and such) but ya... i just like the look of vista. i do however have a gaming computer with Vista on it for fun but whatever.

Well, Vista is still faster than XP
Re: Windows Vista
Vista is faster than XP i have done 6 tests comparing 3 sets of same computers and doing 2 tests on each set.
but how they made it faster i don't know / i would like to know

When i have tweaked my XP it still runs slower than Vista non tweaked on SAME computer...
When i tweak my XP i usually
1. Run a script i created to disable several services
2. Disable the Theme service
3. Change to Windows Classic theme
4. Disable Screen Saver
5. Remove Auto-start programs using Easy Cleaner
6. Disable Auto Searching for printers when entering a folder
7. Disabling Automatic Updates
8. Freeing space
9. Defragmenting
And it is still faster than XP WITH Basic theme on.
I have read on Microsoft that the Aero Engine also make the computer faster, not only does it give those borders...
And i DONT have Aero...
Re: Windows Vista
I know, lol...
I never really liked Aero, maybe it is because it looks sort of ugly, but i never tried it since my computer cant run the Aero engine...

Re: Windows Vista
I encountered a really strange fluke with Windows Vista yesterday.
It said that i have 30 days to activate it.
And then it said your copy of windows vista is not activated.
I had to reactivate it, it took some time since it didnt really like my key for some reason, and when it did, this text in the bottom right corner (This copy of windows is not genuine it said (It says so when windows is not activated, always)) wouldnt go away, even though i got a dialog that it was activated,

Re: Windows Vista
i like vista bc its better, but do you know how many times i have to press ctrl alt del in one day? it goes pretty fast the rest of the time though. i'm just waiting for the next opereating system, hopefully it will fix most of the bugs and run fast.
