Mouse Problem :(
Sometimes / often when I SINGLE CLICK it gets interperated as a DOUBLE CLICK
For Example, in My Computer / Windows Explorer / what ever you like to call it, if I click on a folder ot file once, sometimes it takes it as a doube click and opens it. another example is combo boxes in programs, I click the drop down arrow it starts to drop down but it goes back in.
Anyone know of a reason why?
My mouse is a USB mouse that is connected by a USB to PS/2 (so it is plugged into the PS/2 port, I tried it directly in a USB port and same problem) It is a cheapish brand and I got it probably about 4 years ago, maybe it is worn out/broken?
I don't think I have another mouse to see weather it is the mouse or not but I will see if I do.

Re: Mouse Problem :(
It sounds like a hardware malfunction, I had a mouse which did that a long while back, have you got another mouse to clarify this?
Re: Mouse Problem :(
Yeah, I found one last night and tested it but I then did the same stuff with my current one and it worked just like the other one.
I will probably have to use the other one for a longer period of time. It is a trackball mouse and the trackball is horrible, the optical mouse moves in less room and more smoothly.
I will test it again today

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Ahh, I thought Dojan changed it *rools eyes around the room*
Sorry Dojan
Haha, that would be funny, someone asks "Where do you buy games, electronics and stuff like that from" then you reply "Bad Word Smith Electronics!"

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Haha, I should do that
Say to my mum, "Mum, I'm going to Bad Word Smith Electronics, I will be back later" haha
My dada gave me a new mouse today
It is a Microsoft one and it looks quite good, Microsot Mouses (You don't say Mice for more than one computer mouse aye???) seem to be quite good.
haha, after using the trackball mouse for a while, the optical mouse it was smother and I move the mouse slightlyto go somewhere and it goes too far, lol, got to get used to it again

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Yer the ball mice are slow compared. Did you say microsoft mouse and looks nice in the same sentence without the word not?
Hehe.
Glad to see you have a new mouse.

Re: Mouse Problem :(
yeah, very slow and they often kind of 'get stuck'
Nope, I said microsoft mouse and looks quite good in the same sentance without the word not
Thanks, it is better than my old one, it moves way smoother, it just glides over my mouse pad with no resistance at all
My old one was no where near as bad as the trackball one, but once you get used to using a trackball mouse you don't notice it.
A very old mouse pad, it has to be atleast 10years old, if not 15, the same age I am

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Did not use the word not?! OMFG.
Compare these:
With these:
I mean, just compare those, and yes, I threw in an old Apple mouse, but even that looks better than those MS mice.
Even compare the keyboards
See, Apple's Keyboard is designed to be small, and subtle, it is in frigging aluminium.
I rest my case.

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Honestly, I don't like the look of those Apple mice.
That last MS mouse you posted kind of looks like a bug
And what case did you rest? I said MY mouse looks quite good, not all MS Mice.
And Apple mice arn't compatible with Windows are they? And vice versa (I've only ever used Windows so I wouldn't know but it is a guess based on the different look) if so, you can't really compare them
Here is my old mouse (taken by phone)
Here is my new mouse(also taken by phone)
here is both of them together(also taken by phone)
I don't like the look of the Apple Keyboard either, have you even used one of thos MS keyboards? I have at my school (not the exact type as you posted, it doesn't have the buttons on the left hand side) , it is very comfertable to use, not to mention the extra buttons come in handy. Whats the point of a small keyboard anyway? It's not like you carry your desktop computer around with you, and if you have a laptop why not just use it's laptop keyboard? And what does my MS mouse looking good have anything to do with MS and Apple keyboards

Re: Mouse Problem :(
Apple mice are great. And mighty mouse works with Windows. Cats used her mighty mouse on her PC for a while. And the mighty mouse do have two buttons in case you're wondering, they're just very subtle.
Actually, Apple keyboards are way more comfortable than Microsoft ones, I've used both for a while now, and Apple's rocks.
Not to mention that apples are way tastier than software, sooo...
Apple wins.

Re: Mouse Problem :(
At our college we have many Computer rooms and Mac suites, The mac keyboards are much better.
Anyway everyone is allowed there own opinion and I personly keep the Microsoft mice in general are strange, annoying and ugly
If I was to get a mouse a part from an Apple mouse, I would go with a logitech or Genius as I have always had good experiences with those.
But I find Apple mice to be the most actuate and comfortable, however I often miss click the side buttons which wouldn't be a problem anyway if you used it on windows and it isn't really a problem on a mac
