RPGds is good.
I tried a private release on Linux, it works great, except that Ubuntu uses a fixed up driver for my graphic card so the games tend to run slow.

If your drivers do not fully support OpenGL in Linux, then OpenGL will be running in software mode, and while the RPGds editor is extremely optimized and can run in this mode fairly well, you cannot run a game at any decent speed in software mode as it requires constant rendering.

That was somewhat what the engine said too.thedevilsjester wrote:

But will it work when compiled?

I am glad to see my "software driver detector" worked .
No, unfortunately it means that no RPGds game will run on your system (at least with the Linux drivers you are using). If you have proper drivers in Windows they may work there, or you can buy a cheap video card (some old nVidia like a Geforce2 should be fine) and be set (assuming its not a laptop, of course).

RPGds r10 was released last night. I need your help finding the bugs (and there are many) so we can have a nice stable product by 1.0 release.

I hope you enjoy it.
Some people want an easy program that does most everything for them, and others want to go all out and make everything from scratch in C++.
RPGds targets the people that fall in the middle. Its a smaller audience, but one that has thus far been neglected.

I think you do a good job, Just wish I had more time so I could try and make a game lol.
Re: RPG Development Studio (RPG game maker)
Speaking of C++, did you use KDevelop to create it or did you create it just by code?thedevilsjester wrote:Some people want an easy program that does most everything for them, and others want to go all out and make everything from scratch in C++.
Or did you maybe use another useful program i havent heard about?

I dont quite understand your question. KDevelop is a code editor, so you use it to write code. Are you referring to the KDevelop plugin that lets you create QT based dialogs? You dont have to use that plugin to use KDevelop, and I wouldnt write programs (with or without KDevelop) that use QT because of its very unfriendly license.
RPGds was written in the same program I write all my code in. The KDE equivalent of "WordPad" called KWrite. Which is simply a wordpad that has syntax highlighting.

Re: RPG Development Studio (RPG game maker)
Holy cow.
I meant to put Windows together, like adding buttons and such. I find writing all in code is quite a pain.
