Text to speech bug
Hi,
The browser has got potential, I would like to love it.
I have just bumped into some bugs.
The OS X built in text to speech not working in the Reader
and also has problems on some websites in some special cases.
(e.g.: google the word ‘conjunction’, then click on dictionary.reference.com/browse/conjunction
and try to make your computer read it aloud).
Plus:
It’s not a bug rather request. It would be nice to have the option to choose more languages in the translator.
(Is there ant shortcut to switch between tabs?)
Thanks!

Re: Text to speech bug
We currently support these in translator:
Any language to English
Any language to Spanish
Any language to German
Any language to French
Any language to Italian
Is there any particular language you want to translate to?
We have followed your conjunction steps and the text to speech is working perfectly this end.
Text-to-speech is also working in Roccat Reader, if you right click a link (such as the title on Roccat Reader) then the text-to-speech option will not show, so make sure you right click some non linked content after highlighting the text to read to show the option.
To switch tabs it's shift, command and the left or right arrows - you can see the shortcuts for previous, next, first and last tabs in the Window menu.

Re: Text to speech bug
Thanks for the quick respond.
There is no particular language I want to translate to. I thought it would be nice to have an option to select one or two custom language.
I have tried the text to speech again.
“conjunction case” - it does work when I select Speech/Start Speaking from the menu but it does not when I use my set keyboard shortcut to initiate the text to speech.
Same issue with the Roccat Reader.
Tab switching - working if I click on an open tab first but if I open some tabs with cmd+t I can not immediately switch between them with shift+cmd+arrows

Re: Text to speech bug
We have just tested with a custom shortcut, and it worked.
We opened System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts
Pressed the + button, typed "Start Speaking" as the name and for testing used the keyboard command: ctrl + alt + cmd S
And this worked fine in Roccat Reader and in the "conjunction case" when selecting the text and using the keyboard command.
Is this similar to the step process you followed?
We will look into your tab switching issue.

Re: Text to speech bug
If I setup the shortcut to text to speech on the way that you did it is working, but originally I set it up in a different way:
I opened System Preferences > Dictation & Speech > Speak selected text when the key is pressed: cmd+`
I opened System Preferences > Dictation & Speech > Speak selected text when the key is pressed: cmd+`

Re: Text to speech bug
We're still finding it working in the 'conjunction case'. But you're correct Roccat Reader won't work with this method, as this uses a separate process, and Roccat Reader doesn't allow any external processes to enable it's distraction free reading.
